I built WordPress sites for small business clients for years. Most of them needed five pages and a contact form. They got a database, a CMS, admin panels, plugin updates, and a hosting bill that didn’t match the complexity of their actual problem.
YouGrow is a static site generator I wrote in Python. Content lives in JSON files. Design lives in HTML components that nest and compose. One build command produces plain HTML. No database, no CMS, no server rendering pages on every request.
Components
Buttons, cards, hero sections, full page layouts. Defined once as HTML, reused across the site. Change a component and every page using it updates on the next build. Change the content on one page and the design doesn’t move. The part of modern frontend I actually wanted, without the node_modules folder.
The Product
YouGrow.Pro is the managed website service built on top of it. Custom sites for small businesses on the Central Coast. I handle the site, the client runs their business.
There’s a prospect viewer baked into the system. I scrape a potential client’s existing site, structure the data into a standard schema, and render it through Handlebars templates. They see their own content in a new design in minutes.
